Squale

The Swiss Soul of Diving

Founded in 1959 in Neuchâtel by Charles Von Büren, Squale was born from a passion for diving and Swiss watchmaking precision. The name “Squale,” which means “shark” in Italian, embodies the robustness and reliability of its watches designed for marine professionals. In its early days, the brand manufactured cases for prestigious houses such as Blancpain, Tag Heuer, or Doxa, before launching its own models as early as 1962.

In the 60s and 70s, Squale established itself as a benchmark in the diving world, championed by legendary figures such as Enzo Maiorca and Jacques Mayol. It became an official supplier to the Italian Navy and the Folgore Parachute Brigade. Its iconic models – such as the Squale 1521, the Master, or the 2002 – are renowned for their extreme reliability and functional design.

After a challenging period linked to the quartz crisis, the Maggi family relaunched the brand in 1997, remaining true to its DNA.

Today, Squale perpetuates its heritage by offering professional diving watches, combining Swiss tradition and modern innovations.
